Supporting conservation at Kamay Botany Bay National Park

At Precision Pest Control, we’re committed not just to effective pest management, but also to protecting the environment and supporting the local community. That’s why our team—alongside their families—recently volunteered their time to support a conservation initiative at Kamay Botany Bay National Park in Sydney.

Kamay Botany Bay holds deep cultural significance, with over 30 recorded Aboriginal heritage sites, including rock engravings and art. Historically home to the Goorawal and Gweagal Peoples, the area is rich in history and ecological importance. Today, it’s also home to endangered flora such as the eastern suburbs Banksia scrub, one of the rare ecological communities still found in this region.

Pests and invasive weeds pose a serious threat to this unique environment. With guidance from the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), our team contributed to the rehabilitation of native vegetation by planting local species, removing invasive plants such as bitou bush and boneseed, and helping regenerate around 500 sqm of native habitat.

It was a rewarding day spent giving back—caring for Country, preserving biodiversity, and supporting the continued protection of one of Sydney’s most iconic national parks.
